Georgia and South Carolina

Hello friends....since my last blog entry we have travelled across Florida to Georgia and South Carolina. We have seen the Atlantic Ocean and the moss covered trees around Savannah. While in South Carolina we went to Hilton Head Island and visited with archery friends from New York State!! The Atlantic ocean is definitely different from the Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific ocean. Each has it's own personality and colors. We have also had lots of shrimp and crab while there. We don't want to see another Crab Shack for a while now...lol...never thought I would hear myself say that!! The city of Savannah is very nice with lots of old historic buildings and character. We didn't take any tours there, but we did drive through it several times in our travels. South Carolina was cool for this time of year, but visiting with old friends warmed it up for us. WE have yet to find a really good shelling beach, hopefully soon!
While we were in Skidaway Island State Park in Georgia we had a short in one of our connections in our 5th wheel. We had to have a mobile rv fella come out and replace a plug. Not a big deal, but it took a week to have the problem fixed. It was a stress on both of us and we were very pleased once that was fixed and out of the way. Also while we were at Skidaway Island State Park, the water main in the park burst, therefore leaving us with no water access...luckily we had filled our water tank (by mishap more than anything) before leaving Florida!! Our stay in Georgia also included a trip to Tybee Island and another beachcombing excursion. We have lots of shells for the grandkids!!

  1. Me again -- writing on my birthday (Feb 2). It's so windy up here that I found our huge blue garbage container in your garden earlier. Thanks for the wonderful letter that arrived via snail mail ... on my special day! Great timing, eh? Hugs to you both, your (older, wiser) neighbour xx
